How Much Does a Website Cost for a Small Business in 2026?

PricingSmall Business

If you’ve asked a few freelancers or agencies for a quote, you’ve probably noticed the numbers are all over the place — a few hundred euros from one person, several thousand from another, for what sounds like the same project. That range isn’t random. It comes down to a handful of factors that actually drive cost, and once you know what they are, a quote is a lot easier to evaluate.

What actually changes the price

Page count. A single landing page with a contact form is a fundamentally smaller job than a 5-7 page site with a blog, service pages, and a content management system behind it. Most pricing tiers exist because of this one variable more than any other.

Custom design vs. a template. A site built around your business, your content, and your goals takes more design and development time than filling in a pre-made template — but it also won’t look like every other small business site using the same theme.

CMS and ongoing content needs. If you want to publish blog posts or update pages yourself after launch, that requires a content-management setup, not just a static page. That’s a real feature, not a checkbox, and it affects scope.

SEO and technical foundation. A site that’s fast, mobile-friendly, and structured correctly for search engines from day one costs more up front than one that isn’t — but it also doesn’t need to be rebuilt six months later when the lack of SEO catches up with it.

Support after launch. Some quotes are launch-only. Others include a window of post-launch fixes and small updates. That’s worth confirming either way before you compare two numbers.

What it typically costs

Freelance and small-agency rates for a custom small business website generally range from a few hundred euros for a single-page site up to a few thousand for a multi-page, CMS-ready build — with plenty of variation depending on where the freelancer is based and what’s actually included.

Here’s what a project looks like on our end:

  • Single-page/landing site — from €500. Mobile responsive, a working contact form, and basic on-page SEO.
  • Multi-page CMS-ready build — from €800. Blog setup, CMS-ready pages, one revision round, hosting/SSL setup, a custom email address on your own domain, a spam-protected contact form, and post-launch support.
  • Redesign of an existing site — typically from €800, quoted individually since scope varies a lot depending on how much of the current site can be carried forward.

These are real starting prices, not placeholders — see the Services page for the full breakdown of what’s included at each tier.
